Proudly Providing Dentures Right Here In Fairfax

If you are missing multiple teeth, you may be considering a tooth replacement option. While many people opt for implants, they can be pricey for many. That’s why many people go for the tried-and-true dentures.

Dentures are removable replacements for missing teeth. You can take them out and put them back in when needed. While dentures are not the same as one’s natural teeth, technology has made them more natural-looking and comfortable than ever before.

There are two main types of dentures: full and partial. The best one for you will depend on the number of teeth to be replaced as well as the cost involved. Our team at Breeze Dental can assess your mouth and advise you of your options.

How Do Dentures Work?

Full sets consist of a flesh-colored base that fits over your gums. The base of the upper denture covers the roof of your mouth, while the lower set is shaped like a horseshoe to accommodate your tongue. Both are made of acrylic.

Our team will take impressions of your mouth and will send them to a lab so your dentures can be custom-made to fit your mouth.

The three main types of Dentures we offer at Breeze Dental are:
  • Conventional Full Set. This is the most common type of denture. This type of denture is placed in your mouth after any remaining teeth are removed and tissues have healed. You will be without teeth for several months as your mouth heals.
  • Immediate Full Set. With an immediate full denture, your dentist will have the denture ready as soon as your teeth are removed. While these dentures are a convenience, since you never have to be without your teeth, they must be adjusted and refined later on. This is because the jawbone tends to reshape as it heals, causing the denture to loosen.
  • Partial Set. A partial denture attaches to your natural teeth using a metal framework. Partial dentures are similar to bridges, but they can be removed. In some cases, crowns may be placed on your natural teeth to add support and anchor the denture in place.
